I'm off to London for the next two weeks. I'll be back in Munich for the last "Wies'n-Weekend" to catch up with everyone and have another couple of Maßn... So, if you need to get a hold of me, call the cell or email me.

 Berlin Airshow
10. September 2006 17:45

ILAI just uploaded a set of pictures from our trip to Berlin in May. We went to see the ILA (big airshow) and enjoyed the only Matisyahu concert in Germany. The set includes a number of nice images of the new Airbus A380 and some interesting night shots of Berlin.

Undocumented but unforgettable nevertheless is the infamous "Lieferexpress" with the little palm tree on the business card and our visit to the Dunkelrestaurant since flash photography would have ruined the experience of eating in absolute darkness.

 things to do...
2. September 2006 3:46

in Raleigh while you're there.
I just got back from a 4 week stay in North Carolina and thanx to jet-lag I can't really sleep. Might as well do something useful then. I just collected some pointers for anyone who ends up in the area not knowing where to go.

The closest beach is Wrightsville Beach, just hit I-40 E and follow the signs. For all your shopping needs go to "The Streets @ Southpoint" (exit Southpoint from I-40), also features a movie theater and a bunch of restaurants.

my favorite places to eat in the area:

  • Angus Barn - great steak and a wine list that actually shows years next to the names ;)
  • Brasa - Brazilian rodizio style. Tons of meat and great starters
  • Kanki - good quality sushi
  • The Cheesecake Factory
  • Bullocks - southern style BBQ (pork and vinegar) worth a try

I'm back in Munich now, so please disregard the US cell phone number, it is not going to be in use anymore. I can again be reached on my regular German numbers.
